Softball Recap: Woodland Comes Up Short

Marion hit Woodland with a eight-run fifth inning on Monday, which goes a long way in explaining the final result. The Wolverines lost 13-3 to the Swamp Foxes. The Wolverines haven't had much luck with the Swamp Foxes recently, as the team has come up short the last four times they've met.

Jordan Mccarthy was cooking despite her team's loss, going a perfect 1-for-1 with two stolen bases and one run. She is on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as she's now snagged at least one in each of the last three games she's played. Josie Mitchum was another key player, going 1-for-3 with one run, one double, and one RBI.

Woodland's defeat dropped their record down to 10-8. As for Marion, they have been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 10-8 record this season.

Woodland does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Marion, they will face off against Buford at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
