Baseball Recap: Shenandoah Valley Academy Takes a Loss

Shenandoah Valley Academy extended their losing streak (dating back to last season) to seven on Tuesday, dropping their season record down to 0-6 in the process. They lost 15-0 to the Blue Ridge Jays. The Stars were not able to make up for their defeat to the Jays from their previous meeting back in April of 2024.

As for Blue Ridge, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won 11 of their last 12 matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 13-5 record this season. Considering they have won ten contests by more than five runs this season, Tuesday's blowout was nothing new.

For Blue Ridge's part, Cameron Kerns looked comfortable as he struck out eight batters over three innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. Those eight strikeouts gave Kerns a new career-high.

At the plate, Lochlan 'Bear' Paul was a standout: he went 2-for-3 with three RBI, one stolen base, and one run. Another player making a difference was Mark Warner, who went 2-for-3 with three runs and two RBI.

Shenandoah Valley Academy didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next game, an 8-3 victory against Eastern Mennonite on the 8th. As for Blue Ridge, they also wasted no time getting back out on the field and have already played their next matchup, a 6-0 win against Roanoke Valley Christian on the 1st.
