Basketball Recap: Waukesha South Comes Up Short

Waukesha South was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their third straight defeat. The game between them and the Milwaukee School of Languages Hawks didn't end well, with the Waukesha South Blackshirts falling 63-49. While losing is never fun, the Blackshirts can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Wisconsin basketball rankings (they are ranked 257th, while the Hawks are ranked 123rd).

Milwaukee School of Languages was led to victory by Taylor Williamson and Manning Shareef. Williamson went 9 of 12 to rack up 26 points, while Shareef dropped a double-double on 18 points and 16 rebounds. The contest was Shareef's sixth in a row with at least 17 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Aj (Amaris) Hunt, who posted nine points and four steals.

Waukesha South's loss dropped their record down to 6-13. As for Milwaukee School of Languages, the win was the fourth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 14-5.

Coming up, Waukesha South will be playing in front of their home fans against Waukesha West at 7:00 p.m. on February 14th. As for Milwaukee School of Languages, they wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next match, a 79-32 victory against Milwaukee Lifelong Learning on the 8th.
