Volleyball Game Preview: Alameda Pirates vs. STEM School Highlands Ranch Spartans

Alameda is on a three-game streak of home losses, and STEM School Highlands Ranch a 16-game streak of away losses dating back to last season. However, someone's due for a change in luck on Wednesday. The Alameda Pirates will be playing at home against the STEM School Highlands Ranch Spartans at 5:30 p.m. Given that the two teams suffered a loss in their last games, they both have a little extra motivation heading into this match.

On Monday, Alameda didn't have quite enough to beat Aurora West College Prep Academy and fell 3-2. While the Pirates didn't get the win, they did start the game off strong, beating the Spartans 25-21 in the first set.

Alameda took a 2-1 lead headed into the fourth set, but sadly they lost the next two. The match finished with set scores of 21-25, 25-21, 21-25, 25-20, 15-12.

Meanwhile, STEM School Highlands Ranch came up short against D'Evelyn on Monday, falling 3-0.

Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-8, 25-18, 25-12.

STEM School Highlands Ranch's defeat dropped their record down to 1-7. As for Alameda, they now have a losing record of 3-4.
