Baseball Recap: Godley Snags Ninth Win in Last Ten Games

Godley was handed a heart-breaking two-run loss in their last game, but they sure didn't let that happen against Ferris on Tuesday. Everything went the Godley Wildcats' way against the Ferris Yellowjackets as the Godley Wildcats made off with a 15-3 victory. Considering the Wildcats have won 15 contests by more than five runs this season, Tuesday's blowout was nothing new.

Tabor Anderson made a big impact while hitting and pitching. On the mound, he pitched three innings while giving up just one earned (and one unearned) run off three hits. Anderson was also big at the plate, going 2-for-3 with four RBI. The dominant performance gave him a new career-high in RBI.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Byron McClure, who went a perfect 4-for-4 with three runs, four RBI, and one stolen base. Those four hits gave him a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Crosby Carmichael, who scored two runs while going 1-for-3.

Godley always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .639. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Ferris only posted an OBP of .333.

Godley is on a roll lately: they've won nine of their last ten matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 19-3-1 record this season. The wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.4 runs on average over those games. This is the second loss in a row for Ferris and nudges their season record down to 5-7-3.

Looking ahead, Godley will square off against Venus at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Godley's pitching crew has only allowed 2.7 runs per game this season, so Venus' hitters will have their work cut out for them. As for Ferris, they will challenge Malakoff at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday.
