Baseball Recap: Montgomery Central Find Success

Montgomery Central won against Dickson County last Thursday with five runs and they decided to stick to that run total again on Tuesday. The Indians walked away with a 5-0 victory over the Fairview Yellowjackets. The Indians haven't had any issues with the Yellowjackets recently, as the game was their third consecutive win against them.

Not much got past Robert Cilk, who gave up just three hits and racked up 11 Ks to keep Fairview off the board. Cilk has been consistent recently: he hasn't given up more than two walks in four consecutive appearances.

At the plate, the team relied heavily on Brake Blackwell, who scored a run while going 2-for-3. What's more, he posted two RBI, the most he's had since back in March. Another player making a difference was Dylan Fulton, who got on base in three of his four plate appearances with one home run.

Montgomery Central's victory bumped their record up to 5-9. As for Fairview, they dropped their record down to 7-5 with the defeat, which was their third straight on the road.

Montgomery Central will have a chance to go back-to-back against the Yellowjackets: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 6:15 p.m. on Wednesday.
