Baseball Recap: Midland Valley Comes Up Short

Midland Valley fell victim to Aiken and their airtight pitching crew on Monday. They took a 4-0 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Fighting Green Hornets. The Mustangs were not able to repeat the success they had when they faced the Fighting Green Hornets earlier this season, when they won 5-2.

Midland Valley saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Dale Pearson, who went 1-for-4 with one double.

Midland Valley has also been struggling recently as they've lost 11 of their last 14 games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 7-12 record this season. As for Aiken, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 12-6.

Looking ahead, Midland Valley will be playing at home against South Aiken at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday. The Mustangs' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Thoroughbreds have averaged an impressive 6.4 runs per game this season. As for Aiken, they will head out to challenge North Augusta at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday. The Yellow Jackets' pitching crew has only allowed 3.8 runs per game this season, so the Fighting Green Hornets' hitters will have their work cut out for them.
