Basketball Recap: Calhoun Comes Up Short

Calhoun was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their third straight defeat. They had to suffer through a 54-27 loss at the hands of the Man Hillbillies. The contest marked the Red Devils' lowest-scoring match so far this season.

Several Red Devils players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Baron Davis, who posted 11 points. Micah Allen was another key player, putting up six points along with seven boards and three steals.

Even though they lost, Calhoun smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 19 offensive boards. That's the most offensive rebounds they've managed all season.

Calhoun's loss dropped their record down to 2-6. As for Man, with the win, they broke their three-game losing streak and moved their record to 3-3.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Calhoun will get a bit of extra time to process the defeat as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Braxton County at 7:30 p.m. on January 14th. Man also won't see the court for a while: their next game is against Clay County at 7:15 p.m. on January 20th.
