Volleyball Recap: Bella Guerra's Big Game Can't Quite Lead St. Paul over Monroeville

After flying high against Plymouth last Thursday, St. Paul came back down to earth. The Flyers lost 3-0 to the Monroeville Eagles on Tuesday. The Flyers have struggled against the Eagles recently, as the game was their eighth consecutive lost matchup.

St. Paul was was forced to take the loss, but they sure made Monroeville work for it, especially in the first set. The final score came out to 28-26, 25-16, 25-21.

Several Flyers players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Bella Guerra, who had seven digs and two assists.

St. Paul's defeat was their first in the conference, dropping their conference record down to 4-1 and their overall record down to 4-2. As for Monroeville, the win was the sixth in a row for them, bringing their record up to 8-2.

St. Paul didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next match, a 3-2 victory against Crestview on the 11th. As for Monroeville, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next game, a 3-0 win against New London on the 11th.
