Goliad entered their tilt with Palacios on Friday with two consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with three. They enjoyed a cozy 31-14 victory over the Sharks. The final result isn't all that surprising considering the Tigers' considerable advantage in MaxPreps' Texas football rankings (they are ranked 446th, while the Sharks are ranked 898th).

When it comes to explaining why Palacios lost, don't look at Alex Weaver. Despite the final result, he rushed for 129 yards and one score, and also threw for 167 yards and one touchdown. Weaver's rushing production has been exceptional recently as that marked his fourth straight game with at least 122 rushing yards.

Goliad's win bumped their record up to 4-1. As for Palacios, their defeat was their fourth straight on the road dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 1-4.
