Recap: Richmond Red Devils vs. McCutcheon Mavericks
The Richmond Red Devils put another one in the bag on Saturday to keep their perfect season alive. They rang in the new year with a 62-49 win over McCutcheon. Given Richmond's advantage in MaxPreps' Indiana basketball rankings (they are ranked 18th, while McCutcheon is ranked 291st), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Cedric Horton was his usual excellent self, scoring 24 points. Braiden Hogg was another key contributor, scoring 12 points.
Despite the loss, McCutcheon saw an underclassman step up: Brody Baker scored 21 points. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Baker has scored all season. The team also got some help courtesy of Shamar Ray, who scored 12 points along with four steals.
Richmond pushed their record up to 14-0 with that win, which was their sixth straight on the road. As for McCutcheon, they are on a five-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-10.
Richmond and Muncie Central will face off at 7:30 p.m. on January 12th without much rest after finishing up games yesterday. Hopefully Muncie Central focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 20 on Saturday. As for McCutcheon, McCutcheon and Logansport will face off at 7:30 p.m. on January 12th without much rest after finishing up games yesterday. Logansport is strutting with some offensive muscle, as they've averaged 54.2 points per game.
