Basketball Recap: Trinity Collegiate Titans vs. Heathwood Hall Episcopal Highlanders
There's no place like home for the Trinity Collegiate Titans, who bounced back after a tough loss on the road last Friday. They enjoyed a cozy 54-37 victory over Heathwood Hall Episcopal on Monday. For Trinity Collegiate, this counts as revenge for the 48-47 defeat the Highlanders walked away with the last time they faced one another back in November of 2018.
Trinity Collegiate's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but James Herbert led the charge by dropping a double-double on 12 points and 13 rebounds. Herbert has been hot recently, having posted eight or more rebounds the last three times he's played. Another player making a difference was Landon Wilson, who scored seven points along with eight assists and four steals.
Despite the loss, Heathwood Hall Episcopal still got an impressive performance from Nic Nichols, who scored 16 points along with two steals. The team also got some help courtesy of Henry Morris, who scored seven points along with eight rebounds.
Trinity Collegiate's win bumped their record up to 10-8. As for Heathwood Hall Episcopal, they are on a eight-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 5-14.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Trinity Collegiate will face off against the Highlanders at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Heathwood Hall Episcopal, they won't have much time to rest: their next matchup is against the Falcons at 7:30 p.m. on January 30th.
