Basketball Game Preview: Exeter Monarchs vs. Kings Christian Crusaders

Two dominant guards in Aden Plyman and Andrew Ortega are getting ready to go toe-to-toe. Having just played yesterday, the Exeter Monarchs will head out on the road to face off against the Kings Christian Crusaders at 7:15 p.m. on Wednesday. Both come into the game bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

Exeter will bounce into Wednesday's contest after beating Hanford West, who they had gone 1-8 against in their nine prior meetings. Exeter managed a 54-49 victory over Hanford West on Tuesday. The win was a breath of fresh air for the Monarchs as it put an end to their three-game losing streak.

Meanwhile, Kings Christian entered their tilt with Laton on Tuesday with six consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with seven. They breezed by the Mustangs to the tune of 77-31. The Crusaders pushed the score to 63-24 by the end of the third, a deficit the Mustangs had no chance of recovering from.

Kings Christian has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won 13 of their last 14 matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 22-4 record this season. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 65.1 points per game. As for Exeter, their victory bumped their record up to 17-6.

Exeter didn't have too much breathing room in their game against Kings Christian in their previous meeting back in December of 2021, but they still walked away with a 39-34 win. Will Exeter repeat their success, or does Kings Christian have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
