Preview: Norwich Free Academy Wildcats vs. Griswold Wolverines
After five games on the road, Norwich Free Academy is heading back home. They will take on the Griswold Wolverines at 7:00 p.m. on Saturday. Hopefully Norwich Free Academy focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 22 on Thursday.
Last Thursday, Norwich Free Academy earned a 49-36 victory over Bacon Academy.
Norwich Free Academy relied on the efforts of Nevaeh Yorke, who scored 13 points along with seven rebounds and five steals, and Emily Orcutt, who scored 13 points along with eight rebounds. Yorke continues to roll, besting her previous point total in each of the last three games she's played. Another player making a difference was Brooke Stringer, who scored five points along with two steals.
Meanwhile, Griswold's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Thursday after their fourth straight loss. They took a 45-41 hit to the loss column at the hands of St. Bernard.
The victory got Norwich Free Academy back to even at 5-5. As for Griswold, their defeat was their third straight on the road, which bumped their record down to 1-7.
Everything came up roses for Norwich Free Academy against Griswold in their previous matchup back in January of 2020 as the team secured a 65-25 win. With Norwich Free Academy ahead 37-15 at the half, the matchup was all but over already.
