Baseball Recap: West Anchorage Comes Up Short in High-Profile Matchup with Service

West Anchorage faced Service in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Tuesday. The Eagles fell just short of the Cougars by a score of 7-6. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Cougars this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 11-5 back in April.

Paul Dittrich made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and went 2-for-4 with one stolen base, two RBI, and one double. Another player making a difference was Chase Thompson, who went 1-for-3 with two RBI and one run.

West Anchorage has traveled a rocky road recently, having lost three of their last four contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 5-12 record this season. As for Service, they pushed their record up to 17-1 with the win, which was their 11th straight at home dating back to last season.
