Basketball Recap: Southeastern Takes a Loss

Southeastern lost against Renaissance back in December of 2024 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Thursday. The Southeastern Jungaleers were dealt an 88-6 defeat at the hands of the Renaissance Phoenix. While losing is never fun, the Jungaleers can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Michigan basketball rankings (they are ranked 544th, while the Phoenix are ranked sixth).

Southeastern has been struggling recently as they've lost eight of their last nine games, which put a noticeable dent in their 2-11 record this season. As for Renaissance, the win was the fifth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 16-1.

Southeastern will venture away from home to face off against Oak Park at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Southeastern is facing Oak Park at the right time seeing as Oak Park is stuck on a six-game losing streak. As for Renaissance, they will challenge King at 7:00 p.m. on Monday. Renaissance knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with 55 points or more in their past three contests -- so hopefully King likes a good challenge.
