Basketball Recap: Deer Creek Takes a Loss

Deer Creek suffered their closest defeat since February 9, 2024 on Friday. They fell just short of the Norman North Timberwolves by a score of 56-53. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Timberwolves this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 69-56 back in January.

Deer Creek has also been struggling recently as they've lost four of their last five matchups, which has put a noticeable dent in their 11-10 record this season. As for Norman North, the victory (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 13-7.

Deer Creek and Norman North should be looking forward to their upcoming games as both have a sizable advantage in the MaxPreps Oklahoma Rankings. Deer Creek (ranked 97th) will meet Southmoore (ranked 336th) at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Similarly, Norman North will take on Grant at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday up 254 places (44 vs. 298).
