Softball Recap: Harding Academy Lions vs. St. George's Gryphons
Harding Academy was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their ninth straight loss. They wound up on the wrong side of a rough 11-1 walloping at the hands of the St. George's Gryphons. The result was an unpleasant reminder to Harding Academy of the 21-4 defeat they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in May of 2023.
For St. George's part, they got a big performance out of Avah Lareau, who scored two runs and stole two bases while going 2-for-3. Another player making a difference was Leala Williams, who scored two runs and stole three bases while getting on base in all three of her plate appearances.
Harding Academy's loss dropped their record down to 0-2. As for St. George's, they now have a winning record of 2-1.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Harding Academy will face off against First Assembly Christian at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday. As for St. George's, they will head out on the road to challenge St. Agnes Academy at 5:15 p.m. on Monday.
