Recap: Harding University Rams vs. Hopewell Titans

After losing to the Hopewell Titans the last time they met, the Harding University Rams decided to demonstrate that turnabout is fair play. Harding University strolled past Hopewell with points to spare on Friday, taking the game 47-30. That 17 points margin sets a new team best for Harding University this season.

Despite the defeat, Hopewell saw an underclassman step up: June Wallace dropped a double-double on 14 points and 24 rebounds. Another player making a difference was Kristyn Troutman, who scored 11 points along with six rebounds and two steals.

Harding University's win bumped their record up to 2-11. As for Hopewell, they are on a nine-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-16.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Harding University's road trip will continue as they head out to face North Mecklenburg at 6:00 p.m. on January 30th. North Mecklenburg will be looking to keep their five-game home win streak alive. As for Hopewell, they will head out on the road to square off against Mallard Creek at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Mallard Creek knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with flashy point totals in its past six matches -- so hopefully Hopewell likes a good challenge.
