Football Recap: Oak Grove Starts Season with Win on the Road + How To Watch

Oak Grove had to kick off their season on the road on Friday, but they showed no ill effects. They breezed past the Weaver Bearcats to the tune of 40-3. The Tigers have seen this before: they got the W the last time they saw the Bearcats, too.

Wiley Hicks had a dynamite game, rushing for 97 yards and one TD.

Hicks was just one part of a punishing run game: Oak Grove was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 476 rushing yards. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Weaver only rushed for 22 rushing yards.

Coming up, Oak Grove is taking a road trip to face off against Hayden at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Weaver, they will have a little extra prep time after the loss as they won't be playing again for a while. They'll take on Wellborn at 7:00 p.m. on September 5.
