Recap: Golden Demons vs. Dakota Ridge Eagles
It was a good run, but the Golden Demons unfortunately witnessed the end of their three-game winning streak on Wednesday. They fell 56-48 to Dakota Ridge. Golden found out winning isn't easy when you make five fewer threes than your opponent.
Golden lost despite a true team effort on the offense, the best among them being Alex Erger, who scored 14 points along with nine rebounds. Another player making a difference was Shad Garnett, who scored seven points.
It was another big night for Ethan Berninger, who scored 19 points along with five rebounds for Dakota Ridge. The match was Berninger's 11th in a row with at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Alijah Sawyer, who scored nine points.
Golden's loss dropped their record down to 8-2. As for Dakota Ridge, they are on a roll lately: they've won six of their last seven matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 7-4 record this season.
Golden will be playing in front of their home fans against Littleton at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Littleton will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Colorado Rankings (they are ranked 222nd, while Golden is ranked 25th). As for Dakota Ridge, they will head out on the road to face off against Conifer at 7:30 p.m. on Friday.
