There's no place like home for the Evansville Christian Eagles, who bounced back after a tough loss on the road on Tuesday. They blew past Cannelton, posting a 50-16 victory at home. That 50-16 margin sets a new team best for Evansville Christian this season.
Evansville Christian found their leader in underclassman Hallie Higgs, who scored nine points along with five rebounds and three steals. Higgs is on a roll when it comes to blocks, as she's now posted two or more in the last three games she's played. Another player making a difference was Addie Grubb, who scored eight points.
Evansville Christian is on a roll lately: they've won eight of their last nine contests, which provided a massive bump to their 10-6 record this season. As for Cannelton, they still haven't won a game yet this season and fell to 0-13.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Evansville Christian will take on Evansville Bosse at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday. Evansville Bosse has now lost ten straight, and the team is hunting for their first win since November 16. As for Cannelton, they will head out on the road to face off against Columbus Christian at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday. Hopefully Columbus Christian focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 25 on Friday.
