Softball Recap: Lincoln Snaps Four-Game Streak of Losses on the Road

After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Silas, Lincoln was happy to have turned things around on Wednesday. They came out on top against the Bellarmine Prep Lions by a score of 20-15. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 21-20 two weeks ago.

Lincoln got a massive performance out of Kaydence Pugh, who fired off three triples, five RBI, and three runs while going 6-for-5. Those three triples gave Pugh a new career-high. Joy Wilde was another key player, getting on base in five of her six plate appearances with one home run, six RBI, and four runs.

They weren't the only ones making solid contact: Lincoln kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 18 hits. That's the most hits they've managed all season.

Lincoln's win ended a four-game drought on the road and puts them at 6-11. As for Bellarmine Prep, their loss was their 16th straight at home dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 2-15.

Lincoln and Bellarmine Prep could both be facing uphill battles in their next games considering their disadvantage in the MaxPreps Washington Rankings. The Abes will challenge Central Kitsap at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday with a big rank disadvantage (230 vs. 65). Meanwhile, Bellarmine Prep (ranked 264th) will meet Gig Harbor (ranked 53rd) at 6:00 p.m. on Friday.
