Volleyball Recap: Elkhart Christian Academy Falls Despite Big Games from Kiara Trovatore and Addy Trovatore

Fans were treated to a battle of the Eagles on Monday. Elkhart Christian Academy took a 3-1 hit to the loss column at the hands of South Bend Adams. Elkhart Christian Academy hasn't had much luck with South Bend Adams recently, as the team has come up short the last five times they've met.

The loss didn't mean the game wasn't competitive: South Bend Adams scored at least 17 points in every set. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-23, 25-17, 17-25, 25-23.

Elkhart Christian Academy's loss came despite strong showings from Addy Trovatore and Kiara Trovatore. Addy had 12 digs and five assists, while Kiara had 14 assists and nine digs. Cambri Knafel also deserves some recognition as she had her first kill of the season.

Elkhart Christian Academy now has a losing record of 3-4. As for South Bend Adams, the win (which was their fourth in a row) raised their record to 5-1.

Elkhart Christian Academy and South Bend Adams will both get their first taste of in-conference action in their upcoming games. The Eagles will challenge rival South Bend Career Academy at 6:30 p.m. on Friday. Meanwhile, South Bend Adams is set to square off against their familiar foe Elkhart at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday.
