Sumrall strolled into their game on Friday with a perfect record and they left with the same. They had just enough and edged out the Purvis Tornadoes 26-24. For the Bobcats, this counts as revenge for the 14-10 win the Tornadoes walked away with the last time they faced one another back in October of 2024.

Purvis' loss came despite a true team effort from the offense with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Kade Lawler, who rushed for 47 yards and two TDs, and also threw for 167 yards while completing 78.6% of his passes. The Tornadoes' leading receiver Paxton Cooper was Lawler's top target yet again, picking up 87 receiving yards, while also rushing for 44 yards.

Sumrall's victory bumped their record up to 3-0. As for Purvis, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 1-3.

Sumrall has already played their next matchup, a 41-21 win against West Marion on the 19th. As for Purvis, they also didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next game, a 23-21 victory against Long Beach on the 19th.
