Christopher and Leigh are an even 3-3 against one another since April of 2017, but likely not for long. The Cougars are taking a road trip to face off against the Longhorns at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Christopher's pitching crew has only allowed 3.2 runs per game this season, so Leigh's hitters will have their work cut out for them.

Things were looking good for Christopher after they put the first run on the board on Friday, but unfortunately for them things went downhill from there. They fell just short of Willow Glen by a score of 5-4. The Cougars have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Sam Guenther made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and went 2-for-3 with two runs, one stolen base, and one double.

Santa Teresa typically has all the answers at home, but on Friday Leigh proved too difficult a challenge. They were the clear victors by a 12-3 margin over the Saints. Considering the Longhorns have won nine matchups by more than five runs this season, Friday's blowout was nothing new.

Aiden Phillips and Brandon Kim did most of the damage at the plate: Phillips went 3-for-4 with three RBI, one run, and one double, while Kim went 2-for-3 with two stolen bases and three runs. That's the most stolen bases Kim has posted since back in April of 2024. Another player making a difference was Justin Jeong, who went 1-for-3 with one run and one double.

Leigh hit smart and finished the game with only two strikeouts. The team has now struck out at least five batters in five consecutive contests.

Christopher's defeat dropped their record down to 12-9. As for Leigh, their win bumped their record up to 18-4.

Christopher skirted past Leigh 5-4 in their previous meeting back in April of 2024. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Cougars since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
