Softball Preview: West Rebels vs. Webb Spartans        
        
		
            The West Rebels will challenge the Webb Spartans at 7:15  p.m.  on Thursday. Webb took a loss in their last  game and will be looking to turn the tables on West, who comes in off a win.
West took a loss when they played away from home  on Monday, but their home fans gave them all the motivation they needed  on Tuesday. They skirted past Oak Ridge  8-7. The Rebels haven't had any issues with the Wildcats recently, as the game was their seventh consecutive  victory against them.
 Brooke Weaver was a  major factor while hitting and pitching. On the mound, she  tossed seven innings while giving up just two earned  (and five unearned) runs off   six  hits. Weaver was also solid in the batter's box,  going 2-for-3 with two  runs, one  double,  and one  RBI.

 In other batting news,  Emily Ciancone was  excellent,  going a perfect 2-for-2 with one  stolen base, two  RBI,  and one  run. Those  two  RBI gave  her a new career-high.  Ella Jenkins was another key player,  going 2-for-4 with three  RBI and one  run.
Meanwhile, Webb was not able to break out of their rough patch  on Wednesday as the team picked up their ninth straight  defeat  dating back to last season. They came up short against  Knoxville Catholic, falling  13-4.
  Jeneva Mitchell made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and  went 3-for-4 with four  stolen bases and two  runs.  Terralyn Hill also deserves some recognition as  she  snagged her first  stolen bases of the season.
 Webb's loss dropped their record down to 0-6. As for West,  the  win  got them back to even at 9-9.
 West came out on top in a nail-biter against Webb in their previous meeting  back in April of 2024, sneaking past  6-4. Will the Rebels repeat their success,  or do  the Spartans have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
