Softball Recap: Rogers Has No Trouble Against Scott

Rogers's game on Saturday was a loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Monday. They were the clear victors by a 27-6 margin over the Scott Bulldogs. The Rams haven't had any issues with the Bulldogs recently, as the game was their ninth consecutive win against them.

Rylie Mundt made a splash while hitting and pitching. She looked comfortable on the mound, striking out ten batters over three innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit (and only one walk). She has been consistent recently: she hasn't given up more than two walks in three consecutive appearances. She was also stellar in the batter's box, going 3-for-5 with four runs, two stolen bases, and three RBI. She also put up a double, which was her first of the season.

In other batting news, Charity Murphy was a standout: she went 2-for-4 with four stolen bases, two runs, and one triple. That triple marked the first that she has hit this season. Da'Mya Boles was another key player, going 2-for-4 with one home run, three runs, and three RBI.

Rogers was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .553. That's the best batting average they've posted all season.

Rogers' record is now 4-6. As for Scott, they are on a five-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-2.

Looking ahead, Rogers will challenge Bowsher at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Scott does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
