Basketball Recap: Lewis Cass Takes a Loss

Lewis Cass lost against Caston back in December of 2024, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Tuesday. The Lewis Cass Kings took a 45-31 bruising from the Caston Comets.

Despite the loss, Lewis Cass still got an impressive performance from Bryce Rudd, who posted ten points.

Caston's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Lane Hook, who went 8-for-15 en route to 20 points and eight boards. Hook is becoming a predictor of Caston's success: when he posts at least 20 points the team is undefeated (and 6-10 when he doesn't). The team also got some help courtesy of Logan Mollenkopf, who put up 12 points.

Lewis Cass has been struggling recently as they've lost eight of their last ten contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 4-15 record this season. The win (which was Caston's third in a row) raised their record to 9-10.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Lewis Cass will challenge Western at 7:30 p.m. on Saturday. As for Caston, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Oregon-Davis at 8:00 p.m. on Friday.
