Soccer Recap: Lakewood Comes Up Short

Lakewood was not able to break out of their rough patch on Monday as the team picked up their eighth straight loss. They came up short against the Valor Christian Eagles, falling 4-0. While losing is never fun, Lakewood can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Colorado soccer rankings (they are ranked 146th, while Valor Christian are ranked ninth).

Lakewood's defeat dropped their record down to 1-8. As for Valor Christian, the win (which was their fourth in a row) raised their record to 5-1-1.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Lakewood will host Columbine at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Valor Christian, they will be playing at home against Ralston Valley at 8:00 p.m. on Thursday. Ralston Valley's defense has only allowed 0.4 goals per game this season, so Valor Christian's offense will have their work cut out for them.
