Oasis Academy gave up the first runs on Saturday, but they didn't let that get them down. They walked away with an 8-4 victory over the North Tahoe Lakers. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Bighorns.

Matthew Bird made a splash while hitting and pitching. He looked comfortable on the mound, not allowing a single earned run and allowing only one hit over four innings pitched. He has been consistent for a while: he hasn't given up more than one walk in nine consecutive appearances. He was also big at the plate, going 2-for-4 with one stolen base, one run, and one double.

In other batting news, Zachary Budner was a standout: he went 2-for-3 with one home run and one double. That home run was his first of the season. Fenn Mackedon was another key player, going 2-for-3 with two stolen bases, two runs, and one double.

Oasis Academy kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 11 hits. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now got at least eight hits in eight consecutive games.

Oasis Academy's record now sits at 17-4. As for North Tahoe, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 13-6.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Oasis Academy will head out to face off against West Wendover at 4:00 p.m. on Friday. The Wolverines will roll in looking for their sixth straight win, something the Bighorns surely won't give up without a fight. As for North Tahoe, they are taking a road trip to take on Silver Stage at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The Lakers are facing the Nighthawks at the right time seeing as the Nighthawks are stuck on a seven-game losing streak.
