Baseball Recap: Rancho Buena Vista Sets Scoring Season-High Against Hilltop

Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Rancho Buena Vista). They skirted past the Hilltop Lancers 10-9. The high-flying hitting performance was a huge turnaround for the Longhorns considering their one-run performance the game before.

The team relied heavily on Connor Repchinuck, who went 2-for-3 with one home run, three RBI, and two runs. Those three RBI gave him a new career-high. Paul Janovick was another key player, going 4-for-5 with one stolen base, one double, and one RBI.

Rancho Buena Vista always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .550. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.

Rancho Buena Vista's victory ended a six-game drought at home and bumped them up to 4-9. As for Hilltop, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 4-11.

Rancho Buena Vista and Hilltop will both get their first taste of in-conference action in their upcoming games. The Longhorns are set to face off against their familiar foe Oceanside at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Meanwhile, Hilltop will take on rival Mater Dei Catholic at 3:30 p.m. on Wednesday.
