Football Recap: Wauconda Piles Up the Points Against Round Lake

Wauconda extended their winning streak to five on Friday, bumping them up to 5-0. They really took it to the Round Lake Panthers for the full four quarters, racking up a 77-18 victory. Considering the Bulldogs have won four matchups by more than 20 points this season, Friday's blowout was nothing new.

Cole Korycanek continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines, rushing for 136 yards and three scores on only six carries. That's the most rushing touchdowns he has posted since back in September of 2024.

Wauconda didn't let much get past them through the air: they limited Round Lake to a completion percentage of just 47.8%. The Bulldogs weren't nearly as limited: they posted one of 66.7%.

As for Round Lake, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-4. While losing is never fun, they can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Illinois football rankings (they are ranked 460th, while Wauconda is ranked 124th).

Despite the loss, Round Lake still got an impressive performance from Evan West, who threw for 265 yards and three TDs while picking up 11.5 yards per attempt. 132 of those passing yards were hauled in by Marqus Ries.
