The Douglas Eagles sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 7-6 victory over the Sardis Lions on Tuesday. For the Eagles, this counts as revenge for the 14-1 win the Lions walked away with the last time they faced one another back in April of 2022.

Douglas is on a roll lately: they've won seven of their last nine contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 8-6 record this season. Those victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.6 runs on average over those games. Sardis now has a losing record of 6-7.
