Football Recap: Garden County Beats Leyton for Their Seventh Straight Win

Garden County faced Leyton in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Thursday. The Eagles breezed past the Warriors to the tune of 68-18. Considering the Eagles have won six contests by more than 36 points this season, Thursday's blowout was nothing new.

Garden County didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off two passes before the game was over. The picks came courtesy of Kole Fornander and Wilsie Lobner. Lobner continues to improve, besting his previous point total in each of the last four games he's played. He got in on the action too, converting a pick into a touchdown.

The victory keeps Garden County at an undefeated 7-0. Those wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they've averaged 65.7 points this season. As for Leyton, their defeat was their first of the season and makes their record 5-1.

Meanwhile, Leyton will take on rival South Platte at 2:00 p.m. on Friday. That game will pit two of the most dominant backs against one another: Colt Van Anne and Jared Scherbarth.
