 Ray was not able to break out of their rough patch  on Thursday as the team picked up their fourth straight  defeat. They fell victim to a  tough 17-8 loss at the hands of the Pima Roughriders. The result was an unpleasant reminder to Ray of the  10-6 defeat they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture  back in March of 2022.
  Makayla Barajas and  Cambria Garcia stepped up to the plate in a big way.  Barajas  scored two  runs and  stole a base while going 2-for-3, while  Garcia  scored three  runs and  stole two bases while going 2-for-2. Another player making a difference was  Alexis Gallego, who  scored two  runs and  stole three bases while going 2-for-2.
 On Pima's side,  Braylyn Gojkovich made a splash while hitting and pitching. She  pitched four innings while giving up just two earned  (and six unearned) runs off   three  hits. Gojkovich was even better at the plate,  scoring four  runs and  stealing two bases while going 3-for-3.
 In other batting news,  the team  relied heavily on  Randi McEuen, who  scored four  runs and  stole four bases while going 3-for-3. The team also got some help courtesy of  Bivi Vega, who  scored three  runs and  stole three bases while  getting on base  in all four of her plate appearances.
 Ray's loss dropped their record down to 3-12. As for Pima, their  victory (their first of the  season) made their record 1-5.
 Ray will be staying on the road  on Friday to face off against Ganado at 10:00  a.m. Ray will be hoping to continue their three-game streak of scoring more  runs each  match than the last. As for Pima, they will head out on the road to  challenge  Willcox at 3:45  p.m.  on Monday. Willcox is coming into the  contest with three straight  wins at home,  so Pima will have to stop a  squad with plenty of momentum.
