Meanwhile, there's no place like home for Scott, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Thursday. They were the clear victors by a 12-1 margin over WestSide on Friday. The win continues a trend for the Skyhawks in their matchups with the Renegades: they've now won six in a row.
Carter McClung and Jacob Carrico were major factors while hitting and pitching. On the mound, McClung pitched 1.2 innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. Meanwhile, Carrico pitched 3.1 innings while giving up just one earned run off two hits. What's more, McClung posted four strikeouts, the most he's had over his last five matchups. At bat, McClung went 1-for-2 with three stolen bases, three runs, and one RBI, while Carrico went a perfect 2-for-2 with two RBI.
In other batting news, Louden White was excellent, going 1-for-2 with two stolen bases, two runs, and one RBI. The team also got some help courtesy of Blayne Kuhn, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with two runs and one stolen base.
Scott always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .571. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as WestSide only posted an OBP of .263.
Sherman now has a losing record of 9-10. As for Scott, their victory bumped their record up to 18-6-2.
The batters for both teams will have to hit smart on Monday as both have some strikeout artists on the roster. Sherman has been retiring batters left and right this season, having averaged 7.2 strikeouts per game. However, it's not like Scott struggles in that department as they've been averaging 7.5 strikeouts. Considering how easily both teams rack up Ks, the hitters on both teams better bring their A-game into this one.
