Basketball Game Preview: Beaver Local Beavers vs. Carrollton Warriors

The Beaver Local Beavers will venture away from home to challenge the Carrollton Warriors at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Beaver Local is coming into the match on a three-game losing streak.

Last Friday, Beaver Local was within striking distance but couldn't close the gap as they fell 57-53 to St. Clairsville. While losing is never fun, the Beavers can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Ohio basketball rankings (they are ranked 296th, while the Red Devils are ranked 135th).

Northwest typically has all the answers at home, but on Saturday Carrollton proved too difficult a challenge. They came out on top in a nail-biter against the Indians, sneaking past 76-74. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest victory the Warriors have posted since January 4th.

Carrollton is on a roll lately: they've won eight of their last nine games, which provided a nice bump to their 14-6 record this season. Those victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 62.1 points over those games. As for Beaver Local, their loss dropped their record down to 14-8.

Beaver Local suffered a grim 68-45 defeat to Carrollton in their previous matchup back in January of 2023. Can Beaver Local avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
