Basketball Game Preview: Hoopa Valley Warriors vs. South Fork Cubs

Hoopa Valley is 1-9 against South Fork since January of 2020 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Friday. The Hoopa Valley Warriors will welcome the South Fork Cubs at 7:30 p.m. Hoopa Valley is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 63.5 points per game this season.

Last Tuesday, Hoopa Valley lost to Weed on the road by a 68-54 margin.

Even though the team lost, they still had their share of impressive performances. One of the best came from Charles Sorrel, who went 5 of 7 on his way to 10 points along with seven boards and three steals. He is trending in the right direction considering he's improved his point production for three straight games. The team also got some help courtesy of Brian Richards, who almost dropped a double-double on 11 points and nine rebounds.

Even though they lost, Hoopa Valley smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 12 offensive boards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least nine offensive rebounds in seven consecutive matches.

Meanwhile, South Fork managed to keep up with Middletown until halftime on Wednesday, but things quickly went downhill from there. South Fork was outmatched by Middletown and fell 78-46. The Cubs were down 58-37 at the end of the third quarter, and things only got worse from there.

Hoopa Valley's loss dropped their record down to 11-4. As for South Fork, their defeat dropped their record down to 9-5.

Hoopa Valley beat South Fork 70-58 when the teams last played back in February of 2024. Will Hoopa Valley repeat their success, or does South Fork have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
