Basketball Recap: Hazelwood East Continues Home Dominance on Thursday

Hazelwood East waltzed into their matchup on Thursday with two straight wins... but they left with three. They came within four points of losing the streak, but they secured a 60-56 W against the Parkway South Patriots. This was a revenge game for the Spartans: when they faced off against the Patriots back in December of 2024, they had to take a 60-54 loss.

Parkway South's defeat shouldn't obscure the performances of Noah Barnes, who went 7-for-13 on his way to 23 points, and Jacob Sidwell, who went 7-for-12 en route to 18 points and five boards. That was a full 41.1% of Parkway South's points, marking the third time in a row Barnes has posted more than a third of the team's points. Tyler Shanfeld was another key player, putting up four points and five rebounds.
