Baseball Recap: Highlands Christian Finds Playoff Glory Versus Sheridan Hills Christian

It can be hard to translate regular season success to the playoffs, but Highlands Christian had no problem doing just that on Tuesday. They put the hurt on the Sheridan Hills Christian Sharks with a sharp 16-1 win. The victory continues a trend for the Knights in their matchups with the Sharks: they've now won nine in a row.

Matthew Friedman made a big impact no matter where he played. On the mound, he struck out seven batters over three innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. Those seven strikeouts gave him a new career-high. He was also big at the plate, scoring a run while getting on base in all three of his plate appearances.

In other batting news, Highlands Christian got a massive performance out of Jacob Tullier, who scored two runs and stole two bases while going 2-for-2. Those two stolen bases gave Tullier a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Ryan Watach, who scored two runs and stole three bases while going 1-for-1.

Highlands Christian hit smart and finished the game with only one strikeout. The team has now struck out at least two batters in three consecutive contests.

Highlands Christian's record now sits at 10-3. As for Sheridan Hills Christian, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 4-9.
