On Friday, Sugar-Salem faced South Fremont in a battle between two of the state's top teams. The Sugar-Salem Diggers secured a 58-52 W over the South Fremont Cougars. The Diggers' win was nothing new given the team hasn't lost yet this season.

Monika Nead continued her habit of posting crazy stat lines, dropping a double-double on 28 points and 12 rebounds. She is trending in the right direction considering she's improved her point production for three straight games. Ashlyn Harris was another key player, going 6 of 9 on her way to 15 points and six boards.

Sugar-Salem smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 12 offensive rebounds. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least nine offensive boards in 17 consecutive games.

Several Cougars players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Kenzly Neville, who went 6 for 15 en route to 17 points and six assists. That's the most points Neville has posted since back in January of 2024. The team also got some help courtesy of Brookie Bair, who dropped a double-double on ten points and 13 rebounds.

Sugar-Salem pushed their record up to 21-0 with the victory, which was their eighth straight on the road. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 60.9 points per game. As for South Fremont, their loss ended an eight-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 18-3.

Sugar-Salem does not have any more games scheduled as of now. South Fremont has also already played their next contest, a 55-29 win against Teton on the 3rd.
