Baseball Game Preview: Norview Pilots vs. Salem Sundevils

Norview hasn't had much luck against Salem recently, but that could start to change on Friday. The Pilots will take on the Sundevils at 4:30 p.m. Norview has given up an average of 7 runs per game this season, but Friday's game will give them a chance to turn things around.

Norview came up short against East Syracuse-Minoa on Wednesday, falling 14-4.

Malaki Littlejohn made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and scored a run and stole two bases while going 1-for-3. The team also got some help courtesy of Jamar Whyles, who scored a run and stole a base while going 1-for-1.

Meanwhile, Salem came into Monday's contest having lost three straight, but that streak is now in the rearview. They blew past King's Fork 9-2 on Monday.

Zachary Rigsby made a splash no matter where he played. He looked comfortable on the mound, not allowing a single earned run while striking out nine over seven innings pitched. He also tossed no earned runs, which is notable because Salem is 2-1 when he allows at most one earned run, but 0-6 otherwise. Rigsby was also solid in the batter's box, scoring a run and stealing a base while going 1-for-3.

In other batting news, Cole Cooper was incredible, scoring two runs and stealing two bases while going 3-for-4. He also hit a double, marking his first of the season. Cristian Cooper was another key player, scoring a run and stealing a base while going 1-for-3.

Salem's record now sits at 2-7. As for Norview, they now have a losing record of 4-5.

Norview came up short against Salem in their previous matchup back in April of 2024, falling 8-3. Can the Pilots avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
