Recap: Katy Taylor Mustangs vs. George Ranch Longhorns
The Katy Taylor Mustangs and the George Ranch Longhorns squared off in some playoff action on Saturday, but sadly the Katy Taylor Mustangs had to settle for second. Katy Taylor fell just short of George Ranch by a score of 21-19. Katy Taylor's defeat continues a unfortunate trend for the squad, making it three in a row.
Katy Taylor's loss shouldn't obscure the performances of Daniel Bruns, who threw for 146 yards and two touchdowns, and Dante Archie who gained 158 total yards.
Deion Drinkard had an outrageously good game for George Ranch as he rushed for 111 yards and a touchdown, and also threw for 217 yards and two touchdowns on only 19 passes. George Ranch also got help from Lane Walton who showed off his sure hands for 86 receiving yards.
Katy Taylor now has a losing record at 5-6. As for George Ranch, the victory (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 9-2.
Katy Taylor does not have any more games scheduled as of now. George Ranch is on the road again on Friday and play against Stratford at 7:00 p.m. on November 17th. Stratford is coming into the contest hot, having won their last seven games.
