Softball Recap: Friday's Win Is Riverton Parke's Eighth in Last Nine Outings

Riverton Parke never let their opponents score on Friday. They blew past the Southmont Mounties 10-0. The Panthers might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won 11 matchups by ten runs or more this season.

Jayleigh Inman made a big impact no matter where she played. She didn't allow a single earned run over five innings pitched. Inman was also big at the plate, going 2-for-3 with one home run, one triple, and two RBI.

In other batting news, Riverton Parke got a big performance out of Ashlyn Brenton, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with two doubles and two RBI. Another player making a difference was Haylee Mathas, who went 1-for-3 with three stolen bases, two runs, and one RBI.

Riverton Parke kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 13 hits. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now got at least nine hits in four consecutive contests.

Riverton Parke has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won eight of their last nine games. That's provided a nice bump to their 14-2 record this season. As for Southmont, their loss ended a five-game streak of away wins and brought them to 11-4.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Riverton Parke will head out to face off against North Vermillion at 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Southmont, they will venture away from home to square off against Danville at 5:30 p.m. on Monday. The Mounties' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Warriors have averaged an impressive 9.6 runs per game this season.
