Preview: Tri County Area Vikings vs. Central Montcalm Hornets

After six games on the road, Tri County Area is heading back home. They will be home for the holidays to greet the Central Montcalm Hornets at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Tri County Area has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last three games.

Tri County Area fought the good fight in their overtime matchup against Chippewa Hills on Friday but wound up with a less-than-desirable result. They took a 75-70 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Warriors. Despite running the score up even higher than they did on Tuesday (56), Tri County Area still had to take the loss.

Tri County Area's defeat came about despite a quality game from Gavin Rykse, who scored 20 points along with nine rebounds. Those 20 points set a new season-high mark for him. Connor Henry was another key contributor, scoring eight points along with nine rebounds.

Even though they lost, Tri County Area were smashing the offensive glass and finished the game with 21 offensive rebounds. That's the most offensive rebounds they've managed all season.

Meanwhile, Central Montcalm's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Friday after their fourth straight loss. They fell just short of White Cloud by a score of 72-70. Despite running the score up even higher than they did on Tuesday (62), Central Montcalm still had to take the loss.

Tri County Area bumped their record down to 1-6 with that loss, which was their sixth straight on the road. As for Central Montcalm, their loss dropped their record down to 2-4.

Tri County Area was able to grind out a solid win over Central Montcalm in their previous matchup back in March, winning 59-47. Will Tri County Area repeat their success, or does Central Montcalm have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
