Basketball Recap: Salem Extends Home Winning Streak to 20

Salem had already proven themselves in the regular season and they didn't miss a beat now that it's playoff time. They came out on top against the Woodgrove Wolverines by a score of 59-49 on Tuesday. The victory was familiar territory for the Spartans, who have now won seven matchups in a row.

Emme Custer was nothing short of spectacular: she dropped a double-double with 26 points and 13 boards. The dominant performance gave her a new career-high in rebounds. Another player making a difference was Bailey Rider, who posted 14 points and three steals.

Salem smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 12 offensive rebounds. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least eight offensive boards in six consecutive games.

Salem pushed their record up to 26-2 with the win, which was their 20th straight at home dating back to last season. They've dominated over that stretch too, winning by an average of 30.4 points. As for Woodgrove, their defeat dropped their record down to 19-9.

Looking ahead, Salem will square off against Manor at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Manor will roll in looking for their 16th straight victory, something Salem surely won't give up without a fight. Woodgrove does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
