Baseball Recap: Jefferson County's Losing Streak Is a Thing of the Past

Jefferson County owes their pitching crew a big pat on the back after their performance on Saturday. They came out on top against the Morristown-Hamblen West Trojans by a score of 4-0. The win was some much needed relief for the Patriots as it spelled an end to their three-game losing streak.

The result came thanks to Brody Carr's shutout, as he gave up just a hit and racked up 13 Ks. He has become a key player for Jefferson County: the team is undefeated when he posts at least eight strikeouts, but 18-19 otherwise.

On the hitting side, Caleb Franklin was excellent, going 2-for-3 with three RBI and one double. Jackson Ormonde was another key player, going a perfect 2-for-2 with two runs.

Jefferson County's victory bumped their record up to 21-19. As for Morristown-Hamblen West, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 19-14-1.

Jefferson County has already played their next game, a 5-0 loss against Science Hill on the 10th. Morristown-Hamblen West does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
