Preview: Withrow Tigers vs. Gamble Montessori Gators
The Withrow Tigers will be staying on the road on Friday to face off against the Gamble Montessori Gators at 6:00 p.m. on February 9th. Withrow has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last four games.
Withrow can now show off eight landslide victories after their most recent matchup last Wednesday. They blew past Aiken 67-46. Withrow pushed the score to 57-32 by the end of the third, a deficit Aiken cut but never quite recovered from.
Withrow got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Tyriana Berry out in front who dropped a double-double on 24 points and 20 rebounds. Berry is crushing the block category: she's posted at least two every time she's taken the court this season. The team also got some help courtesy of Yaniah Arnold, who scored 19 points along with eight steals and six assists.
Meanwhile, Gamble Montessori's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Wednesday after their third straight loss. They fell to Trotwood-Madison 49-45.
Withrow pushed their record up to 11-7 with that win, which was their third straight on the road. They've been dominating during the contests in that stretch too, as they've won by an average of 24.7 points. As for Gamble Montessori, they have not been sharp recently as the team's lost four of their last five matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 13-6 record this season.
Everything came up roses for Withrow against Gamble Montessori in their previous meeting back in January of 2020 as the squad secured a 59-27 win. Does Withrow have another victory up their sleeve, or will Gamble Montessori turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
