Montgomery Central came out on top against Stewart County on Thursday thanks in part to the team's impressive six-run fourth inning. The Indians had just enough and edged out the Rebels 9-8. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest win the Indians have posted since March 11, 2024.

Ella Harp was excellent, going 2-for-4 with two RBI, one run, and one double. Another player making a difference was Addison Jackson, who went 2-for-4 with one triple, one run, and one RBI.

They weren't the only ones making solid contact: Montgomery Central kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 12 hits. They are a perfect 5-0 when they post 11 or more hits.

Montgomery Central's victory bumped their record up to 9-6. As for Stewart County, their defeat dropped their record down to 10-8.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Montgomery Central will face off against Clarksville at 5:30 p.m. on Monday. The Indians are facing the Wildcats at the right time seeing as the Wildcats are stuck on a three-game losing streak. As for Stewart County, they will take on Rossview at 5:30 p.m. on Friday. The Hawks will roll in looking for their fourth straight win, something the Rebels surely won't give up without a fight.
